Microsoft 70-347: Enabling Office 365 Services is an online course for IT staff who set up and run Office 365 for an organisation. It covers tenant setup, users and licences, Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, Lync Online and directory sync, in line with the Microsoft 70-347 exam. The course lasts 18 hours 11 minutes over 68 videos, with 19 test questions.

The course follows the order of a real rollout. You start with planning and a pilot, then move on to admin tasks, client rollout, domains and migration. Later modules set up each service in turn, from Exchange Online to SharePoint Online and Lync Online, and finish with the tools that let cloud and on-premises systems work side by side.

What you will learn

  • Plan a pilot rollout and set up Office 365 tenant accounts
  • Build a test lab so you can try changes safely
  • Manage users, licences, and security and distribution groups
  • Plan Office client rollouts, both user-led and IT-managed
  • Add custom domains and pick the right mailbox migration method
  • Set up Exchange Online recipients, anti-malware and anti-spam filters
  • Manage SharePoint Online site collections and sharing with outside users
  • Configure Lync Online, directory sync and organisational federation

Before you start

No formal prerequisites are listed. You will get more from the course if you know basic Windows networking, DNS and Active Directory, and have some experience with Exchange or SharePoint. Microsoft 70-346 is a close partner course that covers the identity side of Office 365.

About the 70-347 exam

Microsoft 70-347 checked your ability to enable and manage Office 365 services, such as Exchange Online, SharePoint Online and Lync Online. Microsoft issued it, and together with 70-346 it made up the MCSA: Office 365 certification.

Microsoft has since retired this exam and the wider MCSA range, and now offers role-based Microsoft 365 certifications instead. The admin skills in this course still help you understand how the platform is set up and run.
