About the 98-367 exam

Exam 98-367, Security Fundamentals, was part of Microsoft’s Microsoft Technology Associate (MTA) programme. It checked basic knowledge of security layers, operating system security, network security and security software. It was designed as a first step for people with little or no work experience in IT.

Microsoft retired all MTA exams on 30 June 2022, so 98-367 can no longer be booked. MTA certifications already earned stay on your transcript. The topics here are still a good base for current entry-level security certifications.

Good options include CompTIA Security+, Microsoft SC-900 and ISC2 Certified in Cybersecurity, all of which build on the ideas in this course.
