Exam 70-640 was set by Microsoft. It tested your skills in configuring Active Directory on Windows Server 2008, and led to the Microsoft Certified Technology Specialist (MCTS) credential for Windows Server 2008 Active Directory. It also counted towards the MCITP Server Administrator and Enterprise Administrator credentials. Microsoft has since retired this exam, so you can no longer sit it. The Active Directory skills it covers, such as DNS, Group Policy and replication, still form the base of later Windows Server versions, so the course remains a useful grounding.
