You do not need any certifications or deep technical knowledge. Basic computer skills and a wish to learn are enough. About the 220-1101 and 220-1102 exams

CompTIA A+ is issued by CompTIA, a vendor-neutral IT body. To earn it, you must pass both Core 1 (220-1101) and Core 2 (220-1102). Together they show you can support hardware, software, networks and users in an entry-level IT role. Because it is vendor-neutral, the skills apply whatever brand of kit an employer uses. CompTIA has since released a newer V15 version of A+ (220-1201 and 220-1202), so check which exams are live on comptia.org before you book.
