CompTIA suggests that A+ candidates have around 9 to 12 months of hands-on IT support experience, but many learners start with this course and build that experience as they go. About the 220-1001 and 220-1002 exams

CompTIA A+ is a vendor-neutral certification issued by CompTIA. It shows that you have the core skills to support hardware, software, networks and users in an entry-level IT role. To earn it you pass two exams: Core 1 focuses on hardware and networking, and Core 2 focuses on operating systems, security and procedures. The 220-1001 and 220-1002 exams belong to an earlier version of A+. CompTIA has since replaced them, and the latest version uses exams 220-1201 and 220-1202. The skills in this course still form the base of every A+ version, so check comptia.org for the current exam before you book.
